Mariah Reescano – Arkansas A+ Fellow
Mariah Reescano is a passionate educator and Arkansas A+ Fellow who has been inspiring students through the arts for over 22 years. With a B.A. in Theatre Arts and an M.S.E. in Educational Theory and Practice, she brings a rich background in dance and drama into the classroom to make learning more engaging, meaningful, and joyful for all learners.
Mariah taught elementary drama for 19 years and now teaches 1st grade at Forest Heights STEM Academy in Little Rock. An Arkansas A+ Fellow since 2006, she actively promotes integrating the arts across the curriculum. She believes that the arts are essential to both teaching and learning, and that creativity—defined as the freedom to try new things, and old things in new ways—is vital in education.
She is deeply committed to the belief that all children can learn and that the arts help unlock each student’s potential. Through her work, Mariah continues to foster creativity, deepen understanding, and bring joy back into classrooms—for both students and teachers.
