Candace Barnes – Arkansas A+ Fellow

Candace Barnes is a dynamic and passionate art educator with over 13 years of experience in arts instruction and a deep commitment to student creativity and growth. As an art teacher, art director, and Arkansas A+ Fellow, she believes in the transformative power of the arts to help young people express themselves, build confidence, and discover their voice.

Serving at Don R. Roberts Elementary and with experience in the Little Rock Public School District, Candace is known for her energy, adaptability, and love for kids. She’s a proud advocate for the Arkansas Art Educators Central Region and the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, and she brings joy, humor, and heart to her classroom every day.

Candace lives by the philosophy that “art builds everything”—and she’s committed to teaching not just skills, but a way of thinking, imagining, and being. She loves working with students and families, always putting “Family First,” and uses the Arkansas A+ Essentials to infuse creativity across the curriculum.
