
CeCe Marie Benson – Arkansas A+ Fellow
CeCe Marie Benson is a dynamic choreographer, educator, and cultural leader with over 15 years of experience developing transformative dance programs rooted in culture, community, and collaboration. As the founder and creative director of Rooted Movement Collective and The Vibe, she is passionate about building inclusive spaces that celebrate movement, identity, and radical joy.
A teaching artist in schools across Arkansas, CeCe works with underrepresented youth, creating opportunities for self-expression and empowerment through dance. Her choreography spans music videos, weddings, quinceañeras, public events, and short films—infused with creativity, storytelling, and connection.
CeCe holds degrees in African American Studies and Journalism from the University of Arkansas and is certified in strength training, yoga, and jazz dance theory. Her favorite recent project, The Vibe Block Party, was a vibrant celebration of Black culture and hip-hop history. Her work has been featured at the Kennedy Center, Walton Arts Center, the Momentary, Texarkana Schools, the University of Arkansas, and the Atlanta Film Festival.
Above all, CeCe is a space-builder, movement trailblazer, and proud mom of four—Arihye, Amari, Avi, and Asante—bringing light, leadership, and rhythm into every space she touches.
